Day Two

Now Before I Start . . . . most of you would know, but if u click on the pictures they enlarge . . I was asked by a couple of people today if I can post bigger pictures . . .

This morning I met up with my friends from IBM. Jenny, Yvonne and Brian. Randima caught up with us later as she needed some sleep as they all had a MASSIVE day yesterday!!! The KMs they covered and things they saw sounded awesome!!! There was no way I could have joined them after arriving just 8 hours earlier!!

Anyway, we found a Tuk Tuk or rather they found us. <they wait outside the gate and mob you as soon as you exit . . .> So all 4 of us crammed in, or rather me and the girls did, Brian was sort of hanging out the side! He he, thanks Mate! Let’s just say it was an experience ... Ended up in a market/shopping area . . Commercial Road I think . .  I don’t know what else to call it . . .I think I’m still processing all I saw from today . . . it has a bit of everything  . . .both in the form of human and animal life as well as shops and products. Oh, and human by-product . . And yes, they don’t need public toilets here . .
I wanted to photograph some visions but did not as they were either way too sad and disturbing or I didn’t think the subject would have liked it . .  You name or think it, it was probably there!

I did manage to buy some things which was great. It was clear that a lot of people had never or rarely seen a white guy.
Some girls were blatantly looking me up and down and talking to each other in their dialect . . . that’s rude!! 8-) I did want to know what they were saying tho . .

The woodwork crafts are amazing. The timbers used are great and sometimes rare (Sandalwood, Walnut etc . . ) but it’s the craftsmanship that is amazing! And the price . . . it’s expensive in local currency but very well priced in ours.

On another note, we arranged to head to the Taj Mahal next weekend. We’ve arranged it so we can see the sunrise and sunset. Going to be a mammoth weekend! No Blogs then as I’ll have no PC etc . .

I’ve just ordered my first‘ Breakfast Box’ from the Butler . . . that is some food we pick up as we leave the hotel and have when we get to work  . . . I reckon it’s pretty cool as the free ‘Quality’ breakfast buffet opens at 6am and as we leave well before that they still cater for us! And as my close friends know, I don’t ‘do’ buffets in general as a blanket rule!

It’ll be a different story tomorrow as I’m off to work and heading there the same time as you are in Australia!! It’ll be a different scene from today, but no doubt an interesting day! Enjoy .

So, below are some pics from today’s adventures . .  Enjoy
